Dear llr. MacDonald:

y We are hereby notifying you that a possible typographical error has been noted in the 1-13CII Certificate of Compliance 9152, Rev. 0 issued on April 4,1982.

The item in question is listed on page 3, section 10(ii). We believe this sentence should read:

"Each package must be leak tested to insure a leak rate not greater 3

than 3.86 x 10-5 atm-cm /sec at STP prior to first use, after the third use and annually thereafter."

References to 3.86 x 10-5 (0.21 oz/yr.), as the leak rate, appear throughout our Safety Analysis Report.

Specific examples are attached to this letter.

We ask that you advise us, and your representative at Three-Mile Island, of the actual rate which must be used in leak testing the cask as referenced in the Certificate of Compliance.

Sincerely, CHEM-NUCLEAR SYSTEMS, INC.
