Dear Mr. Haynes:
The corrective action noted in the referenced response is being expanded as follows:
The violation identified a pipe spool with a ground out area with wall thickness below code required minimum.
It has been determined that Texas Pipe Bending Company was responsible for the problem since the ground out area was under their shop paint.
In order to provide further assurance that no other similar conditions exist, the sample l
inspection previously reported is being expanded.
I A sample of approximately 125 pipe spools supplied by Texas Pipe is being selected for inspection. This number (125 spools) has been selected from the MIL-STD-105D.
The sample inspection will be completed and the results reviewed and evaluated by July 28,1982.
