NUCLEAR PROJECTS 1 AND 4 DOCKET NOS. 50-460 AND 50-513 P0TENTIALLY REPORTABLE CONDITION OKONITE CABLE
Reference:
Telecon ME Rodin, Supply System to PP Narbut, Region V Nuclear Regulatory Commission, dated April 21, 1982.
In the above reference, the Supply System informed your office of a potentially reportable deficiency under 10CFR50.55(e). The subject deficiency deals with deformation of the conductor insulation in multi conductor cable manufactured by Okonite.
The Project has met with Okonite and requested that they examine / test a series of cable samples to determine the extent of the identified discrepancies.
The information gained from that effort will be used by the Project to determine reportability. However, this examimtion and testing by Okonite will take longer than the thirty (30) days allotted under 10CFR50.55(e). Due to this extended evaluation period, we are unable at this time to provide your office with additional information beyond what was reported in the telecon of April 21, 1982.
It is antici-pated that all pertinent information will be gathered and reviewed by the Project to make a reportability determination by June 25, 1982.
