Tne U. S. Department of Energy has been registered as a user of this package under the general license provisions of 49 CFR 5173.393a.
We note that the tie-down scheme shown on page 18 of Report No. ORNL-5147/R1 served to demonstrate that the structural part of the package that provides tie-down capability meets the requirements of 10 CFR 571.31(d).
However, the scheme shown may not provide adequate resistance to overturning moments.
This approval constitutes authority to use this package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of 49 CFR $173,393a.
