Dear Mr. Miller:
On February 4,1982, General Electric requested several changes to the Technical Specifications for License TR-1.
These changes included those orginally requested on January 16, 1978, and an additional change to Technical Specification 9.5 Because of a very pressing need to transfer irradiated fuel, General Electric hereby requests that the requested change to Technical Specification 9.5 be separated from our application (Ref. 2) and granted on an emergency basis.
Justification for this request is contained in the attached application.
General Electric also requests that the remaining changes be given expedited review.
As noted in our letter of March 22, 1982 (Ref. 3), the hottest GETR clement has a thermal power of less than 10 watts and no longer has a potential of releasing radioactive material if loss of storage canal water were to occur.
As this request is directly related to our pending application, no additional fee is enclosed.
