Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

0FFICE OF INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT BULLETIN 80-20 -RII:JP0 50-518,

-519, -520, -521, -553, -554 - HARTSVILLE AND PHIPPS BEND NUCLEAR PLANTS Please reference our interim responses to the subject bulletin dated September 12, 1980, February 10, June 15, August 14, and October 30, 1981. This letter constitutes our final response to the subject bulletin.

Responses from GE have been received which confirm that no Westinghouse type W-2 switches are used in either the STRIDE or NSSS portions of the Hartsville and Phipps Bend Nuclear Plants. We, therefore, consider this bulletin closed for these plants.

As discussed with NRC-0IE, Region II, Inspector Austin Hardin on January 29, 1982, TVA was granted a 21-day extension on the submittal of this response.

To the best of my knowledge, I declare the statements contained herein are complete and true.

Very truly yours, NESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY b
