The Files FROM:

Marvin R. Peterson, Acting Assistant Director Export / Import and International Safeguards Office of International Programs

SUBJECT:

PROPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT NUCLEAR COMPONENTS TO SPAIN (XCOM0616)

On March 16, 1982 Conax Corporation filed an application to export 17 electric conductor adaptor module assemblies to Spain for use in the Cofrentes Nuclear power reactor.

Conax Corporation has requested expeditious processing of this license application as the equipment is scheduled for shipment by March 26, 1982 as it is urgently required by the customer.

The staff has concluded that the proposed export meets the requirements of the Atomic Energy Act, as amended, and would not be inimical to the common defense and security of the United States.

In view of the above considerations, the, staff issued the license without the normal 15-day waiting period.
