Dear Administrative Judges:
At the conclusion of the Board's Prehearing Conference of April 14, the Deputy County F ~cutive, Mr. Frank Jones, was'in-formed by a staff member of
)unty's Planning Department that there are additional m,
. als related to emergency planning in Suffolk County.
Mr. Jones then informed the undersigned of such materials.
In view of the fact that Mr. Jones and the undersigned had earlier in the day made statements to the Board that did not reflect these materials, we are arranging for duplication and transmittal of the materials to the Board a'id cther parties as soon as possible.
It appears that the duplication and trans-mittal will be completed by Wecinesday, April 21.
As has been stated previously, the County Executive has designated Mr. Jones to be Chairman of the Steering Committee to oversee development of the County's radiological emergency l
response plan.
Accordingly, Mr. Jones has asked that I hereby inform the Board and parties that the materials described herein are not a part of the County'a' emergency plan, just as the mate-rials dated March 10, 1982 are not part of such plan.
- Rather, I
all such materials produced by decisions made prior to activation of the Steering Committee are to be censidered rescurce data which may or may not be used, in whole or part, by the persons who are preparing the County emergency plan under the oversight of the Steering Committee.
Thus, the only County " emergency plan" which will have operative effect and will be implemented is the plan developed subject to oversight of Mr. Jones' Steering Committee and is transmitted by the County Executive to the County Legisla-ture for approval.
