'1he purposes of the insepetion were to evaluate idhe

qual 1ty control system in effect and to observe selected components 4

for comparison with applicable specifications.

Three items of non-4.P

  • confomance were detected which will be discussed with respective licensees. These were:

(1) failure to stress relieve and perfom magnetic particle tests, as required by fabrication drawings, follow-ing the welding of insulation attachment plates on the steam generator channel heads, (2) failure to exercise adequate control of low hydro-gen welding electrodes in accordance with applicable specifications, and (3) failure to verify steam generator cladding thickness, which according to specifications, must be no less than 1/4 inch.
