Dear Chairperson Svinicki,
On behalf of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Buchanan, we respectfully request that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) both extend the public comment period for the license transfer application of the Indian Point Energy Center (IPEC) by Entergy Nuclear Operations.to Holtee.Decommissioning International, LLC from thirty days to sixty days, and to hold a local public hearing regarding this application.

Our request would allow the public the opportunity to provide their questions and concerns as well as to allow everyone's voice to be heard. We strongly believe that a local public meeting be held in order to discuss and allow time to provide responses to the public.
The Village has also agreed to support and I have signed a letter addressed to your agency form the County Executive for your consideration.
We appreciate the NRC' s consideration of this request for a 30 day extension of the public comment period and local public hearing regarding this application.
