Reference (a) requested that we notify you of any technical deviations in our position in resnonse to the subject TMI Action Plan Item.

We described our containment high range monitoring system in some detail in reference (b). When our equipment was ordered, not all of the details provided in references (c) and (d) were available. Our equipment design is under review per NUREG-0737, Appendix B, and is expected to comply with the requirements for Category 1 instruments.

High range radiation detector calibration is described in reference (d) as a "special environmental qualification." Linearity of the detector design has been demonstrated, and our detector calibration is certified prior to initial use at 50 R/hr and contains a 1 R/hr O
