Dear Mr. Denton:
This is to provide information regarding the preservice testing of pumps and valves at Byron and Braidwood Stations.
Review of this information should help close Confirmatory Item 8 o f the Byron SER.
Enclosed are the Byron 1 preservice testing programs plans for pumps and valves.
These plans contain descriptions of the testing programs, tables o f pumps and valves to be tested and specific requests for relie f from Section XI inservice testing requirements.
The preservice testing program plans for Byron Unit 2 and Braidwood Units 1 and 2 will contain similar tables and similar relief requests.
The Byron Unit 1 inservice testing program plans for pumps and valves-will be submitted by August 1, 1982.
They will differ from the enclosed plans only in that they will contain the inservice testing schedules.
The Section XI relief requests contained in the enclosed plans therefore apply to preservice testing as well as to the periodic inservice testing.
Early approval of these requests will speed the finalization o f the inservice testing program plans.
Please address further questions regarding this matter to this office.
