NRC STAFF RESPONSE Qj M
TO NRDC'S FIRST DOCUMENT REQUEST d
On March 18, 1982, NRDC served " Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. and the Sierra Club First Request to Staff for Production of Documents" on the Staff. The Staff responds to that request as follows.
GENERAL 1.
Under the heading " General", reauest number 1 asks for a copy of the conplete current version of the General Design Criteria the Staff believes applicable to the CPAR, to the extent it differs from the criteria in Appendix A to the 1977 Staff Site Suitability Report.
l The CRBR plant principle design criteria set forth in Appendix A to the Staff's March 1977 Site Suitability Report still remain applicable to the CRBR plant.
During the course of its review of the CRBR application the Staff will continue to assess the need for any modifications to these criteria. The 1977 Site Suitability Report is already in NRDC's possession or is available in the Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, I
Washington, D.C.

2.
The second request under the " General" heading is for all handouts distributed by Applicant to Staff in meetings on the CRBR PSAR, LWA, and CP application. These documents are being provided with this response and consist of approximately 18-20 inches of documents.
NEW CONTENTION 11 1.
On old Contention 8, now Contention 11, NRDC first requests all documents submitted to the Commission at the time the Commission was considering the present regulations under 10 C.F.R. % 20.1(c) with regard to the ALARA requirements. This request would appear objectionable since the basis for the regulation is not in question in this proceeding, nor could it be, under 10 C.F.R. @ 2.758. Nevertheless the Staff agreed to provide the information requested by NRDC to the extent the NRC had a file or other collection of such information.
Enclosed is a computer printout which identified documents responsive to NRDC's request.
These documents are all available at the NRC Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, Washington, D.C.
20555.
2.
This request asked for all written correspondence between the Staff and the EPA since April 23, 1977 which relate to the establishment of new occupational dose limits.
The Licensing Board in the Prehearing Conference of April 5th and April 6th,1982 overruled the Staff's objection to this request and ordered that this request be responded to, providing that the inform-ation was not to be used to attack the occupational dose limits presently in the regulations.
The Staff responds to this request by providing a computer printout which identifies documents responsive to NRDC's request and by referring NRDC to the information provided oursuant to an F0IA request dated
O i
February 27, 1981.
(Attached) The F0IA material may be obtained at the NRC Public Document Room at 1717 H Street by reference to the F0IA Request number (F0lS-81-77).
The materials listed in the computer printout also are available at the NRC Public Document Room.
Respectfully submitted, 2
