Dear Mr. Engelken:
Cable Spreading Room Deluge System On March 31, 1982 PGE informed you of a delay in the installation of the automatic initiation equipment for the cable spreading room (CSR) deluge system. It was anticipated that the CSR deluge system would be fully functional no later than June 1,1982. The automatic initiation equipment has been installed, however, we are continuing to experience electrical equipment deficiencies during the functional testing of the system. We are working closely with the equipment vendor to resolve these deficiencies. In the interim, fire suppression capabilities remain as previously described in our special report dated May 26, 1981.
This matter has been discussed with Phil Johnson of your staff. We will inform you as soon as the automatic initiation portion of the j
deluge system becomes fully functional.
