Dear Mr. Brewington:
This letter refers to Amendment No. XIII, Applicant's Environmental Report for Clinch River Breeder Reactor Plant, Roane County, Tennessee (ER 81/2617). With respect to Coordination Act responsibilities, we have no comments. With respect to Endangered Species Act responsibilities, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requested a list of Federally listed species which may occur in the impact area of this project in a letter dated October 26, 1981. On November 5, 1982, the Service provided the requested list. At that time the Service also outlined the responsibility of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to conduct a biological assessment of project impacts on any of the above species which occur within the project impact area. Upon completion of the biological assessment and its submission to the Service, we will provide further comments on the endangered species aspects of the proposal.
