Lentine letter to J. G. Keppler dated January 29, 1982.

Dear Mr. Keppler:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the deficiencies identified during the initial testing of the prompt public notification systems for Dresden, Quad Cities, and Zion Stations, as previously documented in Reference (a), have been corrected prior to June 1,1982.

With respect to Zion Station, two sirens which were previously in place have been removed due to their close proximity j

to commerical mink ranches.

This action was taken following consultations with, and concurrence from the appropriate of fsite governmental officials.

Because these sirens (CE-6 and WE-6) were both located within the 5 to 10 mile area around Zion Station, their removal is consistent with the design basis for our prompt public notification system as previously stated in Reference (b).

In addition, the public address system capability with local access at Illinois Beach State Park (Reference (c)) was in place and fully operational as o f May 26, 1982.
