This letter constitutes an interim report concerning the subject condition initially reported under the requirements of 10CFP21. Further review has determined this itan is applicable to the Zinmer site under 10CFR50.55(e).
As stated in our previous report, OA-1703, dated April 15, 1982, an accounting was performed to locate all 3x3x A-36 angle iron, manufactured by Northwestern Steel and Wire Canpany of heat #66221. This investigation was prapted by the discovery of a lamination, approximately 1/8" in depth and 1/32" wide at the Zimner site. Further review of the purchase onler found that only 240' of the material was actually received. At this time, all material has been located and is under the control of several noncon-formance reports.
H. J. Kaiser Co., the principal constructor, has notified all steel suppliers that material manufactured by the aforanentioned vendor will no longer be accepted at the Zinmer site.
A final report will be suhnitted by July 31, 1982, after disposition of the applicable nonconformance reports.
