Vogtle Electric Generating Plant - Units 1 and 2 50-424; 50-425 Embeds-1982 Gentlemen:
On April 26, 1982, Mr. Virgil Brownlee of the NRC was notified by Mr. E. D. Groover, QA Site Supervisor for Georgia Power Company at the Vogtle Project, of a potential deficiency concerning embeds.
At this time, Georgia Power Company is gathering the data required to do an engineering evaluation to determine if there has been or could be any effect on the safety of operations of the plant. The NRC will be sent an interim report on or before July 23, 1982 describing what has occurred and a date for the final report submittal.
This letter contains no proprietary infonnation and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Room upon receipt.
