SUMMARY
OF MARCH 25 AllD APRIL 27, 1982 CRBR REVIEW MEETIllG Two additional meetings have been held with the applicant to discuss progress in the review of specific areas related to their CDA evaluations for the CRBR. A meeting was held at Bethesda on March 25, 1982 and at Argonne ilational Laboratory on April 27, 1882. A list of attendees for both meetings is attached.
On March 25 the applicant presented updates on progress in its further studies in the areas of steel relocation and plugging, neutronic worth uncertainties, and the role of fission plenum gas during LOF events.
In addition the applicant provided discussions on accident progression characteristics of the meltout phase of CDAs and a scoping assessment of margins available with refard to the reactor head structonal capabilities.
The April 27 meeting held at the Argonne National Laboratory provided an opportunity for a tour of the experimental facilities which are used to study the characteristics of fuel dispersal during the meltout phase of CDAs.
In addition the applicant provided further updates on subjects discussedsat the March 25 meeting. Other topics included a reassessmen'.
of fuel behavior during the initiating phase, a status report on evaluation of the W2 test results and an assessnent cf the sensitivity of the conditions within containment following release of various amounts of sodium through the primary vessel head.
