N This is in response to your letter dated March 16, 1982 by which an extension date is requested for the upgraded fuel rod accountability system.
We have reviewcd your request and determined that granting it will not adversely affect the common defense and security nor the public health and safety and is otherwise in the public interest. Accordingly, Safeguards i
Amendment MPP-1 to your License No. SNM-1107 is hereby revised, effective inucediately, by revising the unnumbered license condition issued on June 26, 1981 to read as follows:
Notwithstanding 10 CFR 70.58(h) which requires that current i
knowledge be provided of the identity, quantity, and location of all SNM contained in discrete items or containers, the licensee may continue to use his existing system for fuel roe accountability until June 30, 1982.
On April 1,1982. Mr. G. Gundersen discussed with Mr. H. Foster the request to withhold the letter as containing 10 CFR 2.790(d) information. It was agreed that the letter does not contain information of a type speciff ed in 10 CFR 2.790(d) and that a copy of the letter will be placed in the public document room.
