Sul4%RY OF APRIL 6 AIID 7 CRBR REVIEW MEETIliGS On April 6 and 7,1932, a meeting was held in Bethesda, Maryland to discuss the materials data base and special materials considerations for high tunperature design of CRBRP components. The lists of attendees are attached to this summary.
The applicants' presentation included a discussion of:
the CRBRP lleat Transport Systeu materials data base; the feature tests which verify the data base; environmental effects due to sodium and radiation; special materials and stress considerations, including fracture mechanics, i
metallurgical notch, elastic followup, and weld residual stresses; recent A5flE code changes; transition joint experience and technology in LWRs, LhFORs, and fossil plants; and specific design, material, and structural considerations of the transition joints in CRBRP.
The staff questions in the Materials and Hechanical Engineering areas are documented in the 210 and 250 series questions which have been sent to the applicants for formal responses.
