Subj: License al SNbl-493 Program Code 22120 Docket #70-466 We wish to renew license #SNbl-493 which expires June 30, 1982.
The use of plutonium (80 grams) encapulated as Pu-Be neutron source, is used in our suberitical assembly.
This assembly is used to train students perform-ing various laboratory experiments. As per our previous license we use the material only in the nuclear lab located in the Andrews Building. Always un-der lock and key with access controlled.
We have a leak test performed on the capsules every six months. These tests are performed by the State of blaine iluman Services Department. The test date is kept on file and has never been over 5 picoeuries since we have been testing.
Professors Cox and Cukierski are the two professors in control of the Nuclear Lab.
We have only used the source material once in the past four years. lioweve r, we still test for leakage every six months.
If you have any further questions, contact bl.W. Cukierski.
Sincerely, Y
YML bl.W. Cukierski, Associate Professor of blechanical Engineering cc: file 820527oOfY U 28669
