Background
Babcock & Wilcox, tynchburg Research Center (LRC), by application dated April 1,1982, requested a reduction in its posussion limit of unir-i radiated plutonium from 1.9 kg to 0.9 kg.
II. Discussion Although the possession limit will be reduced by greater than a factor of two, the applicant proposes no change in process operations or in radiation and nuclear criticality safety controls. Therefore, there is adequate protection for the operating personnel, the public, and the environment.
III. Conclusion Issuance of the license amenakent is recommended.
