C) d This letter is to update, Consumers Power Company's responses to your clie rrogatories 1-5 (Set 1), pursuant to 10 C.F.R. S 2.740(e)(1).

Consumers Power Company presently intends to file testimony of the following expert witnesses with respect to the indicated contentions in accordance with the schedule established by the Licensing Board in the prehearing conference on May 6, 1982:

Christa-Maria Contention 2 and O'Neill Contention II-A Charles Axtell and Roger Sinderman will respond to the questions identified by the Licensing Board in its Memorandum and Order (Concerning Motions In Summary Disposition).

Peter Yanev of EQE, Inc., and Rolfe Jenkins of CPCo will discuss the seismic safety of the overhead crane.

John Johnson of MPR Associates, Inc. will discuss the ability of the safety sling to catch the fuel

Charles Norman of Whiting Corporation will discuss i g63 the ability of the overhead crane to withstand the dynamic loads generated when the safety sling v s catches the cask.

will discuss the likelihood of light aircraf t crashes at the plant.

O'Neill Contention II.E. 2. and Christa-Maria Conten-tion 8 David Blanchard will respond to Board questions concerning reliability of the makeup line and the spent fuel pool water level monitor, the operation of motor operated valves MO-7064 and 7068, and the possibility of zircalloy-steam reaction in the spent fuel pool.
