Dear Mr. Sholly:
This is in response to your letter dated April 7,1982 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act,10 categories of records referenced in other documents pertaining to NRR generic safety issues.
With certain exceptions concerning categories 2, 3, and 7, as discussed below, we are making requested records, as identified on the attached appendix, available for your inspection and copying in the NRC_ Public Document Room (PDR), 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20555.
These records will be filed in folder F0IA-82-179 under your name.
With regard to category two, we are now placing one requested plan in the PDR. An additional plan, the current operating plan for the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (NUREG-0740), has already been made available in the PDR.
For your information, we were informed that staff of that office is currently developing a long-range research plan but that pertinent information from key staff has not yet been provided for inclusion into a draft plan.
However, they presently expect to present a plan to the Commission on May 4 for approval and to publish the plan on May 20.
You may wish to request a copy of that plan later.
The record requested in category three has already been made available at the PDR, under accession number 8004100530.
With regard to category seven, the staff is continuing to search for the requested record.
We will notify you as soon as search and review are completed.
