The Commission was briefed by Mr. Demetrios L.
Basdekas (NRR) on his views as contained in his memorandum to the Commission " Pressurized Thermal Shock in Commercial Pressurized Water Reactors and the Safety Implications of Control Systems,"
dated April 29, 1982.
Also participating at the briefing from the ACRS were Chairman Dr. Paul Shewman and Dr. Myer Bender; Dr. Herbert Kouts, consultant to the ACRS; and NRR staff members.
Harold Denton noted that a staff report on the subject is dueto the Commission in June, 1982.
Denwood Ross stated that staff would prepare a report for the Commission giving further comments on Regulatory Guide 1.99.
