May 7, 1982 FEDERAL REGISTER NOTICE (Evidentiary Hearing June 7-15,1982)
From June 7,1982 to June 15, 1982 the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board will conouct an evidentiary hearing in this case at Boyne Mountain Lodge, Boyne Falls, Michigan 49713 (telephone: 616-549-2441).
The general purpose of the hearing is to receive evidence on all issues that have been admitted to this hearing, concerning the appropriateness of licensing Consu-mers Power Company to modify Big Rock Point's spent fuel pool to accommodate more spent fuel; however, evidence will be excluded concerning whether or not there are anomalous soil conditions affecting the seismic analysis of the safety of the containment crane.
That one safety issue will be consid-ered only after the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Staff completes its study of the issue.
Ordinary hours of hearing will be from 9 am to 5 pm, subject to peri-odic recesses and to extension of hours in order to complete the hearing during the scheduled time period.
Saturday and evening sessions will be D5o) scheduled if necessary.
9 Members of the public who are not parties to the proceeding are
/D invited to submit written limited appearance statements and to make brief oral presentations to tne Board.
