50-328 The Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Unit 1 Operating License DPR-77 has a license condition (2.C.21) that requires TVA to submit an inspection program for control md guide thimble tube wall wear for NRC approval before startup following first refueling outage. The details of an inspection program have been provided to the NRC by Westinghouse as WCAP 10002, " Salem Unit 1 i
Guide Thimble Tube Wear Examination." The WCAP concludes that the Westinghouse 17 x 17 fuel assemblies showed "no evidence of excessive wear on the thimble tube wall" and the " fuel assemblies will not develop wear holes in the guide thimble tubes when operating wit' Westinghouse designed control rods."
Therefore, we believe the requirements specified in the Sequoyah Nucle' r a
Plant Safety Evaluation Report (SER) Supplement I have been satisfied and that this issue is resolved. Also, we believe that the license condition 2.C.21 has been satisfied.
