Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 2 Repartable Occurrence 50-368/82-013/01T-0 Gentlemen:
At 11:05 on May 3, 1982, it was noted that ANO-2 battery 2D12 had a cell with voltage less than the required 2.15 V.D.C.
It was further noted that out-of-specification readings (2.146 V.D.C. minimum on cell number forty) had been recorded on May 1, 1982, May 2, 1982, and May 3, 1982, and no immediate cor-rective action applied as required by the " action" requirements of Tech. Spec.
3.8.2.3.b.
As a result, the most limiting aspect of the Tech. Spec. action requirement was exceeded, requiring reporting pursuant to Tech. Spec. 6.9.1.8.b.
Tech. Spec. 3.0.3 was applied upon discovery of the lack of corrective action.
Immediate action to restore the battery to OPERABLE status was initiated.
The battery was restored to OPERABLE status at 11:23, on Fby 3, 1982, complying with the " action" requirements of Tech. Spec. 3.0.3.
Investigation as to proper long-term corrective action is continuing.
