Issue No. 39 - Emergency Procedures .

Shoreham Nuclear Power Station - Unit 1 "3 Docket No. 50-322

Reference:

(1) Letter SNRC-655 dated 1/7/82

Dear Mr. Denton:

x Supplement No. 1 to the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station SER, \

< Section 6.3.1, reflected LILCO's commitment to submit, for NRC review, operating procedures for the suppression pool leakage return system. This operating procedure, SP 23.702.04, was submitted via the Reference 1 letter.

Subsequent discussions with your staff (Mr. J. Wing) have indicated that the intent was to obtain a procedure which would delineate the alarms and corresponding operator actions associated with initiation of this system. It was agreed that Shcreham's Alarm Response Procedures associated with this system would be satisfactory.

To this end, attached herewith are drafts of four (4) alarm response procedures for instruments and electrical equipment as listed below:

1. *LIS-645A (Level Indicating Switch)
2. *LIS-642C
3. *LIS-645B
4. 74 or 49 Relay (time delay and thermal overload, respectively.
