Not Applicable The Region V Duty Officer was informed at approximately 8:10 A.M. on April 23 by the NRC Duty Officer that Rancho Seco had received a bomb threat.
At 6:45 A.M. on April 23 a person phoned: Bob Cook, Channel 40 TV Assignment Editor and stated that he had planted a bomb at Rancho Seco and he had a demand. He wanted the station to air the fact that he had planted a bomb at Rancho Seco and that he wanted to talk to the Governor.
"I don't want to hurt anyone - I want you to get those people out of there and I want to hear on the air that I have planted a bomb and that the Governor wants to talk to me.
I'll be watching all day and when I hear it, I will call you back." Then, he hung up.
