' We understand there is a congressional bill in committee >which would grant Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant

an. interim license before completing the Nuclear Regulatory p/i Commission hearings.
By granting this interim license it appears the assumption is made that the plant will pass 3
the safety inspection recently called for by the Suffolk s
County Legislature.
Early fueling prevents the thorough f[I
-insoection of that contaminated area.

v ii It is our opinion that the Shoreham Nuclear bI Power Plant is a twelve year old mistake which has now b~ecome an ominous reality for all of us.
Before the plant is allowed to fuel,an independent inspection should be J
completed and a sane, workable emergency evacuation plan y-be accepted by our citizens.
