Please note that compounds of uranium were not included in the approved contents for the Model No. DT-5. Assurance of subcriticality for the Model No. DT-5 rrquires containment of fissile compounds within a 2 liter 4
inner container t!hich was neither identified, nor shown to contain the material under conditions of 10 CFR Part 71. Adescription(drawings and specifications) of the inner container and a demonstration of its adequacy for normal and accident conditions of 10 CFR Part 71 should be provided for consideration of uranium compounds in the Model No. DT-5.
The U.S. Department of Energy has been registered as a user of these packages under the general license provisions of 49 CFR 5173.393(a).
This approval constitutes authority to use this package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of 49 CFR 5173.393a.
