Dear Mr. Hansen:
This is in response to your letter dated March 24, 1982, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, all documents from January 1,1971 to December 31, 1975 regarding the decision to lift the embargo on enrichment of foreign uranium in the United States.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA) were created when the Atomic Energy Commission was disbanded.
ERDA subsequently became part of the Department of Energy (D0E).
