Dear Mr. Engelken:
Cable Spreading Room Deluge System On December 31, 1981, PGE supplemented a special report made May 26, 1981, required by Technical Specification 3.7.8.2, to inform you that the auto-matic initiation feature of the Cable Spreading Room (CSR) Deluge System would be operable by March 31, 1982. During the installation of the auto-matic initiation equipment, it was discovered that there are deficiencies with the electrical equipment which had to be returned to the vendor for repair. The electrical equipment is expected to be returned onsite within the next 1-2 weeks.
Subsequently, installation and a functional checkout of the equipment will take place, procedures will be written, l
and the system is expected to be fully functional no later than June 1, l
1982. Fire suppression capabilities in the interim in the CSR remain as l
previously described to you in the May 1981 special report. This matter has been discussed with Phil Johnson of your staff.
