8204130196 820409 DR ADOCK 05000445 l PDR 1

This extension is needed by Brownsville in order that the Brownsville Public Utilities Board will have an opportunity to consider the matter at its next meeting, in the light of the extraordinary importance to this proceeding of Brownsville's position: it appears that Brownsville is the sole party which has not agreed to the proposed settlement, and, in turn, the.

extraordinary importance of these proceedings to the- future l

l of the power supply and interconnected operations of the electric utilities industry of Texas, both within Texas and in coordination with other areas.

In addition, Brownsville believes that it will hold serious discussions with at least one of the applic' ants herein, which discussions may have a substantial impact on Brownsville's position.

In the light of these substantial considerations the Public Utilities Board requires additional time to fully resolve its position.

WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, Brownsville prays that the foregoing twenty day extension be granted and that the Administrative Law Judge take such other action as may appear meet.

Respectfully submitted, PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF THE CITY OF BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS By 2 4 A)3 George Spiegel Robert A. Jablon Its Attorneys April 9,1982 Law Offices:
