This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Messrs. C. T. Oberg, W. Adam, W. Reichhold, P. Lovendale, and C. J. Paperiello of this office en January 22 and February 27-29, 1980, of activities at Chicago area facilities authorized by NRC Byproduct Material License No. 12-18044-01MD and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. Robert L. Sanchez, President, and others of his staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the en-closed investigation report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room, except as follows.
If this report contains information that you or your contractors believe to be proprietary, you must apply in writing to this office, within twenty days of your receipt of this letter, to with-hold such information from public disclosure. The application must in-clude a full statement of the reasons for which the information is con-sidered proprietary, and should be prepared so that proprietary informa-tion identified in the application is contained in an enclosure to the application.
l A separate letter setting forth certain matters of concern and the items i
of noncompliance found during this investigation has been sent from the Office of Inspection and Enforcement. Your response to those items should be made directly to that office.
You will note that several apparent items of noncompliance identified in the report are not included in the letter from the Office of Inspection and Enforcement. Their letter was prepared after a review of this report by the management and legal staff of the Office of Inspection and Enforce-ment.
