Dear Mr. Miller:

Enclosed is the new Emergency Response Plan for the UCLA Reactor.

It is the first amendment to the renewal application submitted in February,1980 and entirely replaces Appendix IV of the application.

The Emergency Response Plan has been reviewed by the Radiation Use Committee, the Campus Radiation Safety Officer, the Chairman of the Campus Radiation Safety Committee, and the Director of Research and Occupational Safety. Further, the Campus Emergency Planner has re-viewed the plan for compatibility with the overall Campus Emergency Plan.

We will submit, within four to six weeks, new data amending the -

Argonaut Safety Analysis Report which now constitutes Appendix III of the application. The new ASAR, as amended, supports the enclosed emergency plan.
