ZIffER Backaround By letter dated January 22, 1982, the staff notified Cincinnati Gas &
Electric that certain activities essential to the staff's review of enerqency planning for the Zimmer Nuclear Power Station were outstanding.
The purpose of this neeting was to discuss these activities for understanding and guidance. The attendance list and handout naterial are attached.
Suma ry The anplicant nade presentations describing the planning, design and status for the Enerqency Operattnq Facility (EOF), Technical Support Center (TSC),
and other Emerqency Response Facilities (ERF). DJring these presentations there was detailed discussion of components and methods of operation for these facilities and the staff offered suggestions for improvement based upon experience at other nuclear stations.
The applicant was handed the staff consultant's critique of the Zinmer ERF aqainst HUREG-0814.
The document, "liethodology for Evaluation of Energency Response Facilities", August 12, 1981, Pacific thrthwest Laboratory, Richland Washington, is a draft, not adopted by the staff and given to the applicant for information purposes.
The reqaining time was spent discussing other items in the January 22, 1932 letter for clarification.
The applicant stated that the tarqet date for updatinq the ERF plan submittal
( fon1all y November 12,1981 sub11ttal) and respondinq to the January 22, 1932 letter is April 15, 1982.
The applicant will request a two nhase ERF appraisal in nid 1982.
