EVALUATI0il 0F THE flIH TAPE LIBRARY FACILITY Attached is a memo from Armand Consoli which briefly but clearly identifies a potential for total loss of all the fiRC systems and data used at the filH computer facility.
In my opinion, adequate safeguards do not exist at the facility for iRC systems.
I agree with Mr. flaughton that this is our problem;and nec his.
I suggest that immediate steps be taken to evaluate on a system by system basis, the risk and potential for loss of data and services in the event of a disaster at fi!H.
Upon completion of each system evaluation, action must be taken, where warranted, to develop backup procedures for protection of f1RC owned software and data.
I realize that the Division of Security has been developing a plan for implementation of A-71, however, I don't expect any imediate improvement as a result of their planning.
