Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Your letter dated October 14, 1981 raised several questions concerning the CNS 8-120 radioactive waste shipping cask, Certificate of Compliance USA /6601/B( ), expiration due date December 31, 1984.
Chem-Nuclear's Technology Center engineers conducted an in-depth evaluation to deter'mine the extent of manpower and capital resources necessary to adeauately respond to your questions. We have committed the resources necessary to produce a licensed package which meets both regulatory and industry requirements. Therefore, we resocct fully request additional time to complete this project.
Chem-Nuclear plans to have the answer to your questions in the form of a completely revised Safety Analysis Report forwarded to reach you by October 1, 1982.
