By letter dated December 15, 1981, the technical contractor for
!!RC-02-81-061 notified the llRC Project Officer that a complete review and evaluation of the Union Carbide Corporation's Gas Hills Reclamation Plan could not be adequately perfomed without incorporating information from five additional documents. The staff has reviewed this request, and concurs that these additional documents are necessary in order to obtain the required information regarding geology, hydrolcgy, groundwater, seepage, and water quality aspects of the proposed reclamation plan.
Therefore, you are requested to initiate the following modifications to NRC-02-81-061:
Article I - Statement of Work The revised Statement of Work shall read:
" Tile contractor shall provide a technical review and evaluation of the propused reclamation plan
(" Inactive Tailings Areas and Heap Leach Site -- East Gas Hills Uranium
!!ill, Hyoming") and of the five additional documents as listed in the letter dated December 15, 1981 from Geotechnical Engineers Inc. to the NRC Project Officer."
Article ;I - Reporting Requiraients New subsections shall be added as follows:
D.
A revised draft report shall be provided by May 1,1982 to the NRC Project Officer for review and approval.
E.
The final report shall be provided to the NRC by June 8,1982.

Robert S. Brown, Jr. Article III - Period of Performance The period of performance shall be extended by three months to June 8, 1982.
Article V - Consideration and Payment Paragraph C shall be changed to read:

The total amount obligated under this contract shall be increased by $1400, for a total of $9537.00.
