Dear Mr. Keppler:

In accordance with the request of Reference (a), the following monthly status report is provided for your use regarding the evaluations performed at Dresden, Quad Cities and Zion Statons in response to I.E. Bulletin 79-14.

The content of this report now only addresses systems found to be inoperable per discussions with Messrs.

I.

Yin and D. Daniellson of your office.

At Dresden ano Quad Cities Stations, there are no changes since the last status report for I.E. Bulletin 79-14.

At Zion Station, stress points in subsystem 2SW-50A have been found to exceed the 2.4 Sh primary pipe stress SSE loading limit.

The nodal points in the subsystem where this condition occurs, as well as the associated stress, is as follows:

Nodal Point 2.4 Sh (psi)

Computed Stress (psi) 816 36,000 52,946 818 36,000 54:061 FEB 24 1982 8203030469 820219 PDR ADOCK 05000237 G

O J. G. Keppler Februa ry 19, 1982 In addition, stress points in subsystem RH-8 have been found to exceed the 2.4 Sh Limit.

The nodal points in the sybsystem where this condition occurs, as well as the associated stress, is as follows:

Nodal Point 2.4 Sh (psi)

Computed Stress (psi) 50 35,880 39,369 55 35,880 38,168 Appropriate repairs to these subsystems have been performed such that pipe system stresses are within the FSAR allowables.

The revised Dresden and Quad Cities I.E. Bulletin 79-14 schedules discussed in Reference (b) will be provided under separate cover.

Please address any questions you may have concerning this matter to this office.

Very truly yours, N
