Dear Dr. Wogman:
I have reviewed your monthly report for the Edgemont Cleanup Action Program (B-2217) for December,1981, and have the following comments:
1)
You should continue to emphasize completing all remaining full. engineering assessments at those properties which have been identified to date as requiring such full-EAs.
2)
You should continue your review of data from the mini-EAs to draw conclusions correlating soil sample analysis or gamma radiation level results versus grab or long-term radon progeny measurements.
This evaluation should be completed and reported no later than your March, 1982 monthly letter report.
3)
You are authorized to initiate a summary report of the long-term radon progeny monitoring performed to date using the EPA's RPISUs.
This summary report should provide a listing of all RPISU measurements, including hours of sample collection, and the annual average value for each location. Also, provide any correlations of these RPISU results to any grab radon progeny measurements, or gamma radiation levels, or soil sampling results for each location. This report should be completed and reported no later than your May,1982 monthly letter report.
4)
Please provide a summary of the response you obtained from the letters mailed in January,1982 to the remaining homeowners in order to obtain their permission to conduct the free radiological surveys.
l This summary should include a description of your efforts to personally contact each owner individually so that we may be sure t
L that every effort has been made to get 100% participation in the radiological survey program.
(See my December 4,1981 letter to you l
