Enclosed is an application for export license (X5NM02763), recently received by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, for the export of low-enriched uranium for use as working stock for LWR fuel fabrication in Germany. Assurances from EURATOM are required that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Hauber:

Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) requests the issuance of an export license to authorize the shipment of uranium scrap to Siemens Brennelementwerk in Hanau (SBH). The uranium is to be recovered and used as working stock in the fabrication of light water reactor (LWR) fuel eithat at SBH or Advanced Nuclear Fuels GmbH in Ungen, Germany.

A check for $3100 is enclosed.
