NRC INFORMATION NOTICE N0. 93-30 NRC Information Notice No. 93-30, "NRC Requirements for Evaluation of Wipe Test Results; Calibration of Count Rate Survey Instruments," was prepared by NMSS and issued to all NRC licensees on April 12, 1993. However, as a result of oversights, NRR did not see this notice until after it was issued.
The notice addresses problems found at NMSS licensee facilities and refers to regulatory requirements (in 10 CFR Parts 34 and 35) and guidance (Regulatory Guide 10.8) that are not applicable to reactor licensees.
Had we seen the notice before it was issued, we would have requested that the addressees be limited to NMSS licensees. Therefore, it is appropriate for reactor licensees to respond to this notice as they would to any Information Notice addressed to NMSS licensees only.
This memorandum is being placed in the NRC Public Document Room and can be given to licensees.
