SUBJECT:
NUMARC MEETING WITH THE NRC ON JANUARY 28, 1993 NRC staff met with representatives from NUMARC and other interested parties on January 28, 1993 to discuss NUMARC plans to co-fund performance of ampacity derating tests of fire barrier configurations assembled by Texas Utilities 1
Electric at Omega Point Labs. NUMARC intends to use the results of these tests for application to the industry.
Enclosed is a list of the attendees.
NUMARC discussed the performance of ampacity derating tests using the methodology proposed in IEEE P848, draft 12. This draft is expected to be voted upon by the IEEE Insulated Conductors Committee within the next 6 weeks.
The staff asked questions during NUMARC's presentation on the subject procedure.
NUMARC agreed to present the staff with their proposed ampacity derating test plan for review and comment within the next two weeks.
The staff agreed to expedite review of the proposed NUMARC test plan.
