Submittal Supporting Accelerated ABWR Schedule - ABWR CDF Sensitivity to ESF Equipment Out of Service

Dear Chet:

The reference letter transmitted resultt of sensitivity analyses performed to determine impact on AWR CDF resulting from removal of ESF equipment from service. Calculations were performed with the ABWR internal event PRA model, and values presented represent changes from the base case CDF value of 1.56E-07 per year. The CDF change for each case reficcts the impact of completely removing the identified equipment from service. Change in CDF for any specific out of service time can be obtained by prorating between the base case CDF and that presented for the equipment completely removed from service.

Following transmittal of this information, an error was discovered in the changes in modeling made to assess impact on CDF of diesel generators and diesel combinations out of sersice.

Consequently, the cases involving diesel generators out of service were respecified and rerun.

Results of these corrected diesel generator out of service calculations are presented in the attached table and supersede those transmitted in the reference letter.
