I By letter ELV-05103, Georgia Power Company (GPC) proposed to add requirements for the operability of feedwater isolation systems to the Technical Specifications for the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP). ' Attached to this letter is a revision to the proposed specifications, as suggested by the NRC staff during a telephone conversation of -

July 1,1993. This revision maintains the requirement for placing the plant in mode 3 with inoperable feedwater isolation systems, but eliminates the requirement for mode 4.. This is.

appropriate since the proposed specification is only applicable for modes 1 and 2.

i This revision is consistent with the applicability and action requirements for feedwater systems of similar design as described in NUREG 1431. The change does not affect the basis or conclusions of the significant hazards evaluation contained in ELV-05103.
