Dear. Mr. Austin:
. Attached for your information is a copy of an amendment to the Fort St. Vrain (FSV)
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit, approved on June 30, l
l 1993. This amendment increased the pH limit for the turbine building drain to 11.8 s.u.,
l as requested in the referenced letter, and it will become effective on August 1,'1993.
The attached change to the FSV NPDES Permit is provided in accordance with Section 3.2.c of the FSV Non-Radiological Technical Specifications, Appendix B to Facility l
Operating License No. DPR-34. If you have any questions regarding this information, j

Enclosed please find a copy of the amended pages of your existing permit which was issued under the Colorado Water Quality Control Act. Your discharge permit requires that specific actions be performed at designated times. You are legally obligated to comply with all terms and conditions of your permit including these changes. It is especially important to note the " EFFECTIVE DATE", not the
" AMENDED DATE", located at the bottom of each amended page of your permit. It is illegal to discharge per the new conditions until the effective date.
